A New Well Brings Clean Water to Ethiopia

Charity Water

Challenge

In recent decades, Ethiopia has faced famine, drought, political instability and war. Although peace has returned, the nation remains developmentally weak, and over 50 million Ethiopians don’t have access to safe water. Most rural families survive on fewer than five liters of water per day and walk up to four hours to collect it from open sources.

Solution

Since 2006, charity: water has worked to solve this water crisis by bringing clean and safe drinking water to over 2.5 million people around the globe

Budget

10000 euros

Implementation

The White Feather Foundation along with partners at charity:water  built hand-dug wells, which measured up to 15 meters to reach aquifers below.
