Since 2015, The White Feather Foundation has worked alongside our charity partners at Studio Samuel to implement education and healthcare programs for young girls in Ethiopia. Most recently, in February, we completed a campaign to help restore their HIV AIDS Prevention Course. Then the pandemic happened.
This left the caregivers without support due to isolation measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and the inability to work. Because these caregivers are essential to the strength of the economy when communities re-open, it’s especially important to keep them safe and healthy for the duration of lockdown so they can resume business immediately thereafter. Put simply, the restoration of the infrastructure depends on them.
In response, Studio Samuel launched an emergency campaign to deliver food staples, soap and rental assistance for the households impacted during this challenging time. They set a goal of $10,000; as of this writing they’ve still got over $4,000 to go.
Donations in any amount are appreciated and a little bit goes a long way in helping these women remain well. If you are able to give, please visit their campaign page at Global Giving. There you’ll find additional details about what the contributions buy, see photos of the women you’ll help and find updates as the campaign gets closer to being fully funded.
If you are unable to give at this time, another way to assist would be to share this post, or the fundraising page, with your friends and followers on social media. Together we can all help #conservelife.
