The Irish Hospice Foundation send a Heartfelt thanks to Julian Lennon

Dear Julian,

On behalf of the staff and Board of The Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF), we wish to extend a heartfelt thanks to you for your wonderful contribution to the sons + fathers book, edited by Kathy Gilfillan.  Your contribution was crucial to the project.

As a result, the book attracted significant sponsorship from Park Hyatt Hotels and Ardagh Group reaching a wide audience inside and outside of Ireland. To date it has raised a fantastic €250,649, a great achievement.  A bestselling hardback in Ireland, sons + fathers has been received very positively at all levels – a treasured item for years to come.

As promised, all funds raised for the IHF will go towards our Nurses for Night Care service – a free service provided to those at end of life, allowing them to spend their final days at home. Last year this service reached 520 families providing over 1,600 nights of care.

10% of funds have already gone to Hospice Africa Uganda’s (HUA -led by Nobel peace prize nominee Dr Anne Merriman) community palliative care nursing. Your support has helped make this happen.

2016 is the 30th anniversary of IHF and we will use the books at our 2016 commemoration and anniversary events throughout the year.

I wish you a wonderful 2016 but for now,

Go raibh míle maith agat.
