In January of this year, wildfires devastated multiple communities in the greater Los Angeles area, burned more than 57,000 acres and displaced over 200,000 people. 30 residents lost their lives.
In response to this tragedy, that same month, The White Feather Foundation donated $5,000 to Musicares disaster response. What follows is the impact our contribution, combined with donations from other nonprofits and individual donors, has made (so far) on the community.
How the Funds are Distributed
Musicares disaster response includes:
- Emergency Financial Assistance (for shelter and other necessities)
- Discounted Hotel Rooms
- Free Clothing and Studio Space
- Grocery Gift Cards
- Mental Health Support
- Referrals for Additional Care Services for People and Pets
- Unemployment Benefit & FEMA Relief Information
Donor Impact, By the Numbers
Together with other generous donors from across the globe, your contributions resulted in:
- Over 3,000 Music Professionals receiving assistance
- Over $6 million in relief grants distributed to those in need
- Nearly $4 million given to partner organizations for the ongoing support of first responders, community organizations and other residents who were affected by the fires
Thanks to everyone who donated to our General Fund or the Education & Health area of giving, and of course to members of The Pulse and The Quill monthly giving programs, who all contributed to this gift.
