Education Lesson

This activity shows children how valuable it is to have an education. An exercise in compassion, building a safe school for others less fortunate will serve as a reminder how fortunate they are to have a safe place to learn.
Education Lesson

Imagine a world where all children have a right to education.

Materials you’ll need

  • Miniature Marshmallows
  • Round Toothpicks
  • Construction Paper in a Bright Colour

Instructions

  1. Place construction paper down on a flat surface to make the base of your new school.
  2. Lay out four toothpicks in a square shape vertically and connect them with marshmallows.
  3. Stick four more toothpicks, vertically in each of the marshmallows.
  4. Place another four marshmallows on the top of those toothpicks and repeat the vertical square.
  5. Finish by making two triangles at each end of the top and joining them in the middle with one toothpick attached between the marshmallows on each end. Voila! Your new school is ready for class.
