This activity shows children the importance of replacing trees with new ones to restore the earth, fight global warming and protect animal species.
Reforestation Lesson

We can plant new trees to replace those cut down. It’s called reforestation.

Materials you’ll need

1 Tree-planting kit or

  • Tree Seeds
  • Soil
  • Cup or Small Pot
  • Water

Instructions

  1. Add soil to a cup or small pot.
  2. Add water to cover and let soak for 10 minutes.
  3. Add seeds and press into soil.
  4. Place in recommended setting (sunny window, etc.) and follow instructions about how often to water and care for it; when time, transfer to larger container to continue to grow.
  5. Admire your new tree for years to come!

  • Why it’s harmful to cut down healthy trees.
