Art@Hospital is doing a new project to bring art to Casa Garrahan. A home for children and their mothers to stay while undergoing treatment at the Hospital Garrahan. It’s the most important children’s hospital in Latin America.
The Garrahan treats children from all South American countries and enjoys an iconic status. It treats over 1,500 children each day, offering the latest state of the art medical treatments and surgery for free to patients who have no insurance, nor private means. It is also a teaching hospital and that has schooled some of the finest pediatricians.
Many children come from far away and have to stay for ongoing treatments without being interned. So for these children the Casa Garrahan has been created. A home away from home whilst being closely connected to the hospital.
Art@Hospital are going to make this place a happier space. To make children and their mothers feel less lonely and to create a friendly environment in the most difficult time of their lives.
